Ceramic Sculptor
A Missouri native, Andy Rogers creates contemporary ceramic sculptures in his Lee’s Summit studio. His pieces begin on the potter’s wheel before being carved, altered, and layered with terra sigillata, stains, glazes, and airbrushed acrylic washes. A layer of acrylic sealer completes the surface, adding depth and bring out the richness of the underlying layers. Inspired by overlooked details in nature, Rogers captures their essence rather than replicating organic forms.
For over 20 years, his award-winning sculptures have been exhibited in galleries and art fairs nationwide, with pieces in private and corporate collections. Alongside his studio practice, he teaches private lessons and travels for workshops and demonstrations, sharing his expertise and passion for ceramics.
